I HATE layering with camisoles. They always get bunched up underneath my shirt and I wind up awkwardly tugging at them to stay in the right spot. Oh and if I'm wearing them underneath a dress... forget about it. I get the horrible little bump that looks like a roll underneath the from the cami bunching up, and I can't even fix it without lifting up the entire dress. Does anyone else have this problem?! I feel like I'm the only one with an extreme hatred toward cami's.
Anyway.
The other day as I was rushing out the door, I realized the loose fitting tank top I was wearing had the underarms cut out so far that you could see the side of my bra when I lifted my arms. Pretty trashy looking :( So I thought, now would be a great time to try out that new bandeau top trend underneath my tank, since a cami would be the only other solution and they obviously annoy the crap out of me.

Except where was I going to get a bandeau top with only 5 minutes to spare before I had to leave?! Well here is how I did that. (With still a minute to spare ;) hehe..but no seriously. It was that quick. )
1. Found an old too-small, tight fitting cotton cami to reconstruct (So glad to get rid of it hehehe)
2. Put the cami on myself, only upside down. (so the straps were at the bottom of the shirt) I marked how long I wanted the bandeau to be, leaving a bit extra so I had room to hem it. I cut horizontally across the shirt where i made my mark
3. I pinned the raw edge down, and sewed the pinned edge down to create a cleaner hem
And alas, no more trashy overexposed underarms. Now if you have a smaller bust, you may have to take the side seams in a little so the bandeau doesn't fall down. Although I don't see it as being much of a problem if you used a tight fitting cami, because it will stretch to fit your shape.
I would post a picture of me wearing the bandeau, but I feel like it would just be a really awkward picture considering it'd be wearing very minimal clothing.
And on a musical note, I have a new song on my YouTube page. It's a cover of The Only Exception by Paramore. I would seriously love you forever if you could take the time to listen and let me know what you think!
